A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Sales Support Representative (SSR), you will be an integral part of a fast-paced sales team. Your primary focus will be to assist your sales team in serving the needs and expectations of our customers. You will be the main point of contact and a critical liaison for our customers from the quotation and acceptance of an order through its successful delivery and installation. A key component of this position is the ability to understand and maneuver through the quotation, order entry, and project management steps of our sales cycle with the goal of fulfilling our customers' needs to ensure that they receive the right products, at the right location, at the right time.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Provide inside support for multiple account managers within the utility sales organization focused on Transmission & Distribution products.
  • Manage quotation intake from clients, input through the appropriate systems, work with assigned business units, and provide the final proposal for submission to customers.
  • Review purchase orders for completeness and conformance with the proposal. Once confirmed, input into the Order Entry system, initiate the process with the factory for acceptance and start of production, ensure receipt of order acknowledgment, and ensure correct sales credit assignment.
  • Provide customer service by staying on top of pending orders and customer requests.
  • Troubleshoot problems with customer orders, customer accounts, and other related issues.
  • Update our CRM tools (salesforce.com) as requested for the accounts you support to ensure forecasting and progress on opportunities are noted and current.
  • Work with factory locations to monitor and update customers on the status of delivery while also keeping their account manager informed.
  • Collaborate with assigned account managers to create and implement targeted sales strategies.
  • Identify areas for improvement in sales practices and make suggestions for enhancements.
  • Ensure assigned account managers are always kept up-to-date and aware of any issues related to meeting customer requirements.
  • Provide responsive "Customer First" level of service to both external customers and internal personnel.

 

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in a business-related field or engineering.
  • 3+ years’ experience working in a combination of technical sales and/or field support roles. Candidates with more experience may be considered for a higher level. 
  • Technically savvy with experience and ability to quickly learn corporate technology systems (SAP, Salesforce, etc.). 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Organized, able to handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Retains knowledge, takes initiative, and tackles additional work as required.
  • Comfortable establishing relationships and communicating with all levels of personnel at our customers and within our own company (i.e., business units, plant personnel, management, and salespeople).
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation); able to clearly and concisely express information (or data) to non-technical associates, peers, and management.
  • Self-motivated and driven, resourceful to achieve goals independently in addition to working well within teams.
  • Ability to coordinate and support outside sales personnel by contributing to the development of the sales cycle including proposals, order entry, and delivery of material.
  • Ability to support and prioritize day-to-day transactional activities to produce a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Flexibility and willingness for potential 10% local/domestic travel.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Our Transmission & Distribution SSR team is currently comprised of eight highly experienced tenured professionals. The team was started back in 2000 with four individuals and has consistently grown over time. Our team offers a lot of exposure into the organization which can be used for future career development, if you so choose. Because of the growth and expansion in this growing industry, we are adding to our collaborative, high-energy team.
