Facility Maintenance Technician

You are a technically knowledgeable, naturally hands-on, and have a passion for improvement. You are looking to build a career with a major manufacturer as a key member of the plant's maintenance staff.

The compensation for this position is based on skill. A Facility Technician I makes $22.83 per hour and a Facility Technician IV makes 34.70 per hour. What you will own & improve:

Machine Shop - You will conduct corrective and preventative mechanical maintenance of CNC and NC lathes, mills, VTL, HBM, drills, presses with the support with other maintenance professionals and outside experts.

Test Department - You will support the corrective and preventative mechanical maintenance of the test department infrastructure such as air, water, hydraulic, controls, and simple electrical systems (lighting, fan controls, etc.).

Fabrication - You will support the corrective and preventative maintenance of factory Core and Package Fabrication department systems, such as cranes, lifts, skates, and forklifts.

Factory - You will support corrective and preventative maintenance of misc. factory systems and equipment, and well as conduct routine activities for the benefit of plant operations.

What you already know:

  • Vehicle Support Knowledge - Capable of troubleshooting and repairing gasoline, diesel, and electric cars and trucks.

  • Decision Making - Your decision making is logical, directional, and informed.

  • Mechanical Troubleshooting - You can read mechanical prints, read repair instructions, and follow maintenance work instructions on mechanical systems and equipment.

  • PM System Knowledge - You have participated in a preventative maintenance program and can quickly learn new computer-based CMMS systems.

  • HAZOPER/Hazardous waste program Knowledge - You are an integral part of and appreciate the importance of proper hazardous waste collection, isolation, and disposal.

  • Safety Rules and Knowledge - You have a eye for safety, embrace the use of proper PPE, and utilize safe maintenance practices in your daily routine.


  • What you will learn (if you don't know already):
  • How to of troubleshoot (identify if mechanical or electrical problem) and mechanically repair CNC, NC, and older machine shop equipment.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting skills (switches, broken wires, bad contacts).
  • Cranes, Forklifts and other lifting equipment.
  • How to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment and around large industrial equipment.
  • You will know or learn how to safely operate cranes and forklifts.
  • How to balance seemly conflicting daily pressures and priorities.
  • Project planning, execution, delivery, and reporting.

  • How Success is measured:
  • Preventive Maintenance completions.
  • Corrective Maintenance completions.
  • Customer satisfaction with work completed.
  • Effectiveness and efficiency of work completed.

  • About the Team:

    This role reports to the Plant Maintenance Supervisor and will work and collaborate as an integral part of a tight-knit and dynamic team helping to drive impactful and lasting change. Other team members include the Manufacturing Improvement Manager, Production Control Supervisor, Material Handling Supervisor, MRP Controller and Master Scheduler who support a manufacturing facility of over 160 skilled technicians, welders, and machinists.
