Job Title: Health and Welfare Services Manager About the Role: As the Health and Welfare Services Manager, you will oversee daily operations of Health and Welfare services encompassing enrollment, life insurance administration, billing, and ensuring compliance while mitigating financial risks. You will play a pivotal role in resolving escalated issues, administering ACA regulations, and managing key processes like National Medical Support Orders and tuition benefit enrollments. Your efforts will contribute significantly to the university by collaborating with various departments and insurance providers to deliver seamless services. Additionally, you will lead a dedicated team responsible for health plan administration, payroll coordination, and compliance reviews, setting team goals and fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. Key Responsibilities: Daily Operations: Oversee Health and Welfare services, including health benefits enrollment, life insurance, tuition, and FSAs. Ensure compliance, mitigate financial risks, and provide exceptional service. Resolve escalated customer, system, and vendor issues. Coordinate with Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Benefit Analysts, in-house legal, and vendors. Compliance and Administration: Ensure compliance with policies and regulations. Manage ACA administration and support key processes like National Medical Support Orders. Review and update policies and procedures to align with departmental goals. Team Leadership: Set team goals and conduct performance reviews. Approve leaves and ensure adequate coverage. Foster an inclusive and growth-oriented environment, promoting Ohio State's core principles. Strategic Support: Develop, review, and update Health and Welfare knowledge content, resources, policies, and procedures. Work collaboratively to ensure policies and procedures align with departmental strategy. Support departmental objectives by enhancing policies, resources, and processes to improve overall service delivery. Certifications and Education: Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience. 3 years of relevant experience. Experience in a higher education setting with retirement work history. This is a hybrid position that requires work on the Columbus campus.
