The Yield & Inventory Manager is responsible for subject matter expertise on Spectrum Reach’s inventory landscape and will provide best in class support for our growing business. Responsible for performing critical inventory analysis and providing insights to maximize yield and grow revenue. Work closely with sales and cross-functional teams on pricing, yield management and analytical guidance. This includes but is not limited to developing pricing and packaging strategies, guidance on proposals, inventory clearance and projections, and identifying revenue opportunities.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Develop solution-oriented strategies based on KPIs, data, and inventory utilization.
- Collaborate with Sales and Yield & Inventory (Y&I) leadership on developing pricing strategies across all inventory sets, including linear networks/dayparts, streaming TV, addressable, programmatic, and high-profile opportunities. Evaluate and update rates based on demand and viewership trends in the market.
- Define inventory landscape to maximize revenue and performance opportunities.
- Collaborate with and make recommendations to cross-functional teams on inventory optimizations.
- Report on key inventory trends focusing on pricing, packaging, and sell-through optimizations.
- Work with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and drive efficiencies.
- Manage data integrity between multiple systems.
- Build and analyze reports, focusing on performance, sell-through rate and yield strategies.
- Support leadership in rolling out key initiatives, new processes, and product enhancements.
- Conduct weekly and monthly reviews with sales leadership.
- Review and recommend makegoods, added value, & campaign delivery.
- Identify schedules for key events and provide updates to sales leaders on event performance (sellout, rates, CPMs). Evaluate yield in key events and make recommendations to sales teams on driving pricing and inventory utilization.
- Analyze yield across all inventory platforms and provide insight to sales leadership to grow revenue.
- Approve orders for linear and streaming local, national, and programmatic clients in order management systems.
- Forecast Streaming TV and impression-based inventory requests for clients and develops advertiser-specific strategies based on campaign parameters to meet client budgets and KPIs.
- Perform other duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Effective verbal and written business communications skills
Ability to multitask and be detailed oriented
Knowledge of the advertising industry including yield optimization, pricing and inventory, and programmatic buying/selling
Demonstrate analytical skills
Deep understanding of impressions-based media math
Experience in supply & demand environments
Team player with experience in cross-functional collaboration in a matrixed organization
Proven organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently
Understanding of high-level yield and monetization strategy
Experience working on and implementing projects and rolling out initiatives
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Understanding of data aggregation/Microsoft Excel (Vlookup, Pivot Tables)
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree or combination of education and experience
Required Related Work Experience
3+ years of media Inventory work experience
3+ years of consultative relationships with sales
2+ years of linear and/or digital video advertising environment experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Understanding of digital ad serving platforms (e.g., Freewheel’s MRM).
Understanding of high-level yield and monetization strategy
Experience in programmatic & RTB environments
Preferred Related Work Experience
