The Health and Civil Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Certified Athletic Trainer to provide athletic training and research support for injury prevention and rehabilitation research programs. In addition to assisting with various research protocols, the Athletic Trainer will be required to execute a full range of direct athletic training procedures, diagnostic, and treatment services for military personnel and beneficiaries as part of standard care and innovative research protocols.

The Athletic Trainer will provide overall support for Leidos and our government customers at the Naval Health Research Center, Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, and collaborating institutions. We are seeking a highly motivated entry to mid-level Athletic Trainer to join our program. The successful candidate is experienced with standards of athletic training care and is passionate about improving the health and performance of military personnel. The successful candidate has excellent communication skills, is detail-oriented, and can work both independently and in a team setting.
Primary Responsibilities.
Provide athletic training subject matter expertise in support of research efforts
Contribute to multiple ongoing research studies by applying critical thinking skills during data collection and collecting and managing data with precision
Provide technical support to clinicians and service members interacting with the research equipment
Maintain research equipment through computer and software installation and updates, and independently troubleshooting technical problems as they arise
Assist other clinical staff with the treatment of service members with a musculoskeletal injury
Comply with all required Leidos and Government requirements and complete required certifications and trainings
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required for the customer research mission.
Effectively and efficiently respond to urgent inquiries and requests.
Work overnights, on weekends, and holidays as needed for research project execution.
Travel domestically and internationally as required for project, program, and contract needs.

Basic Qualifications.
Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). Licensed and board certified. A passing score from the Board of Certification (BOC) for the Athletic Trainer examination and hold credentials of Athletic Trainer, Certified (ATC)
2 years of experience working as a Certified Athletic Trainer in a clinical setting
An unrestricted state license/registration/certification in any of the 49 regulated states; the District of Colombia; or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the US Virgin Islands to provide health care within the scope of practice for athletic trainers per state practice acts
A National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Ability to interact positively and in a professional manner with military personnel, government staff, and contract colleagues.
Proven ability to read, comprehend, and discuss research and medical materials.
Excellent critical thinking with problem-solving skills and an ability to work cooperatively in a team setting.
Flexibility in responding to changing demands, timelines, and priorities.
Ability to work non-regular hours (e.g., nights and weekends) as needed for data collection.
Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally for research data collection, meetings, and conferences.
US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET government security clearance.
Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications.
Familiarity with HIPAA, PHI/PII, and IRB protocol compliance.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $50,050.00 - $90,475.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
