About the Enterprise

The Republic of Singapore operate a detachment of CH-47 Chinook Helicopters at Swartz Barracks, Oakey. Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides Maintenance and Logistics support services to the Singaporean detachment.

The opportunity

BDA is seeking a Quality System Specialist to join our Oakey-based team. This role would suit an enthusiastic quality minded individual with a quality, aircraft maintenance or Engineering background. This role provides an exciting opportunity to support and enable, with respect to achievement of both tactical and strategic quality objectives, in the provision of tools, materials and services for the Republic of Singapore Air Force and the broader BDA Quality function. In this role you will be required to foster and enable a culture of continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities of this role shall include, but not be limited to:

  • Coordinating and collaborating with Program and Functional leadership to ensure the ongoing effectiveness and efficiency of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Working with the Part 145 Responsible Manager to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory compliance and approvals (preferable but not essential)
  • Perform delegated Part 145 Quality Manager duties as required to support program operations (preferable but not essential)
  • Conduct internal audits with the dual purpose of assessing system compliance to applicable regulations, standards and contract requirements as well as identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Develop, implement and maintain quality directives, policies, plans, processes and program applicable work instructions
  • Track, monitor, measure and report the health and performance of the program QMS and support, as necessary, remediation response to any lagging and negative leading indicators
  • Lead and/or coordinate investigations and associated root cause analysis activities in order to identify corrective and preventative actions and assure first time quality imperatives can continue to be met
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver a quality capability that provides site-based support to the CH-47F helicopter

To be successful you will have:

  • Completed ISO 9001 Lead Auditor training by a recognised training organisation or willingness to achieve as part of an upskilling plan
  • A willingness to proactively and independently resolve issues
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to effectively engage, communicate with and influence key stakeholders
  • Australian Citizenship to meet Defence security requirements
