Job Description Summary

The Facility Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the proper operation of all aspects of assigned facilities. The Facility Supervisor must establish, operate, and maintain a comprehensive Facility Management program which allows the organization to manage and oversee the operations and maintenance of the buildings, building systems, and equipment, and provide operational support and coordination of site services. The Facility Supervisor must oversee the day-to-day operations of on-site staff and contractors that operate and maintain the buildings, building systems, and equipment. The position will need to work closely with other functions to support business goals to drive best in class and innovative service.

What this job involves -

The Facility Supervisor must manage the day-to-day activities for the assigned property/facility. The candidate must be able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, effectively manage through stressful situations, and consistently make effective and high-quality decisions. It is crucial for the Facility Supervisor to develop and effectively manage client and customer relations by providing valuable insights that effectually integrate innovations which foster efficiency, competitiveness, and growth.

What is your day to day?

  • Responsible for overseeing all facilities management for a specific site(s) by ensuring satisfaction with Facility/Property Management by providing a seamless interface through organization, leadership, responsiveness, and creativity.
  • Effective management of supplier base to attain cost savings targets.
  • Develop and implement innovative programs, processes, and procedures that reduce short- and long-term operating costs and increase productivity.
  • Oversee the appropriate monthly/quarterly/annual reporting.
  • Develop monthly/quarterly variance reporting on all operating budgets for each property in a timely basis.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of the annual management plan for the buildings within the area.
  • Responsible for the submission of all internal audits.
  • Monitor overall workflow to assure timely completion within established contracts (SLA's).
  • Implement best practices and monitor their effectiveness and keeping informed on the value-add measures being implemented.
  • Conduct inspections to assure consistent delivery of services.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to email and phone communications.
  • Actively participate in meetings, by sharing ideas and solutions as may be appropriate.
  • Instill a high level of performance expectations from team members with a heightened client focus and with open and timely communication across the organization.
  • Have a strong focus ensuring staff and 3rd party vendor partners meet all EHS, SLA, KPI, satisfaction surveys and Scope of Work (SOP) requirements.


Desired experience and technical skills

Required:
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)
  • Minimum of 5 years industry experience required either in the corporate environment, third party service provider, or as a consultant.
  • Strong organizational and management skills
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Superior people management and client relationship skills
  • Ability to plan and manage within budget and time constraints.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with managing multiple vendors and projects.

  • HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilating, Air conditioning and Refrigeration)
  • Indoor Air Quality

  • Building Exhaust Systems
  • Preventative Maintenance (Scheduled maintenance to prevent break down)
  • Backflow Preventers

Building Systems
  • Fire water loop/piping
  • Fire Monitoring systems (sprinkler/alarm)
  • Building Automation Systems
  • Building Monitoring systems

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • In consultation and collaboration with the Regional Facility Manager, oversee operations, staffing, performance, and development of the Facility/Property Management service delivery staff.
  • Coordinate discussions with each direct report regarding goal setting, performance reviews, career development planning, and incentive/salary administration.
