Visiting Assistant Professor of Music (Music History and Theory) | Hamilton College - Military Veterans

The Music Department at Hamilton College invites applications for a one-year position as a sabbatical replacement at the rank of Visiting Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor beginningJuly 1, 2025. The teaching load for this position is five courses (either as a 2-3 or 3-2), including music theory, the history of Western art music (with an emphasis on the period from 1700-1950), an introductory listening course that encompasses a diverse range of musics and approaches, and electives open to both majors and non-majors. We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate their experience in teaching or working with broadly diverse student populations. Your cover letter should address the ways in which you would further the College's goals of enhancing the educational experiences of students while building a diverse and inclusive educational environment. Candidates with ABD will be considered, although candidates with a Ph.D. or D.M.A. are preferred. The Music Department, consisting of six full-time faculty members and twenty-nine lecturers in music performance, has a strong tradition of excellence in teaching and research.
