Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Architect to join our team! In this role you will get to work on a large masterplanned mixed use development in Saudi Arabia.
What You'll Be Doing:
Preparation of high quality presentation drawings.
Preparation of technical design packages through to tender.
Provide support and production assistance to senior team members.
Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of the architectural portions of a project. This involves the preparation of original designs, layouts, details, drawings and specifications.
Analyzes and reports on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques and/or difficult coordination requirements.
Coordinates architectural efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other divisional groups.
When delegated, assumes a lead role over other architectural personnel for specific tasks or project sub-groups.
Assists in on-the-job training of assigned personnel and provides input for their performance evaluation.
Prepare the Design Management Plan for the project and gain client approval of the same
assist on preparation of the BIM/GIS management plan for the project
Ensure updated Hard copies of the drawings and design submissions are retained on the project
Develop and Implement a Design Quality Management plan
Supports the Project Controls team in developing the Design baseline programme and revisions thereof
Supports the Procurement team for Design Consultant Tender, selection and appointment
Develops the RACI matrix for Design workflow processes and stage gate approvals
Supports the Estimating team on Cost estimates and Budget preparation
Prepare agendas and Chair the Design Kick-off and regular progress meetings
Liaise with Client and other stakeholders to finalize the design brief and communicate same
Ensure proper document naming and numbering conventions and support the Document Control teams on filing structures
Review and approve Design consultant submissions
Approve payment stage gates
Record, Track all design changes promptly after occurrence
Support the Project Control and Commercial teams on Variations, EOT claims assessment and determinations
Prepare regular Progress reports and presentations
Liaise with External Authorities and stakeholders for approvals
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Engineering or Architectural degree (or equivalent) and at least 10 Years of relevant experience.
Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, application, adaptation and modification of standard architectural techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Senior Architects should have strong design and presentation skills and be proficient with hands graphics and computer graphics. Experience in the use of Adobe Photoshop, Pagemaker and Illustrator is preferred. Ability to use and work on MicroStation is an asset.
This level of designer would be proficient in developing design solutions, preparing high quality presentation drawings, and preparation of technical packages from concept design, through Design development, Final Design to Tender and Contract documentation.
Attends site to assist with supervision of installation of the contract works. General office skills will also be required including cataloguing, library development, sourcing for materials and technical support. Provides liaison with CADD technician
