Job Description

This is an unlimited, part-time position with a guaranteed 0.75FTE (24 credits). Activities related to college teaching and learning in the Dental Hygiene field, including but not limited to the duties listed below.
  • Instructional planning, teaching, learning, and evaluating associate degree students in the classroom.
  • Instructional facilitation.
  • Assessment of student performance.
  • Dental Hygiene program coordination.
  • Student recruitment, retention, and advising.
  • Lab/climate management.
  • Maintenance of professional skills and credentials.
  • Work closely with program advisory committee to maintain and enhance curriculum and assess program outcomes.
  • Participation in department meetings, coordination activities, curriculum development, and college-wide committees.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Education Requirement : Bachelor's degree and graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program.
  • Occupational Experience Requirement : Three full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a dental hygienist.
  • Recency Requirement : One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
  • Professional Requirement : Current Dental Hygienist License from the Minnesota Board of Dentistry.

  • Dedication to teaching and student learning providing quality education emphasizing college level standards.
  • Commitment to studying, analyzing, and implementing learning strategies that will help students reach their education goals.
  • Experience using teaching techniques that support diverse learning styles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of instructional technology, including Interactive Television and online course delivery.
