The University of Chicago's Department of Neurobiology in the Biological Sciences Division is searching for a Research Assistant Professor (RAP) whose primary activity will be academic research in association with a faculty member or team. The RAP will be responsible for designing and implementing behavioral-neurophysiological experiments using trained, behaving non-human primates to understand the neuronal mechanisms underlying visual attention. The position entails collecting and analyzing large datasets, writing manuscripts, and applying for grants both as a member of the larger team and independently. The appointee will ultimately create an independent research effort with dedicated extramural funding that complements existing strengths within our academic community. Publication record and ability to obtain extramural grants will be considered. Prior to the start of employment, applicants must 1) have a doctoral degree or equivalent in Biological or Biomedical Sciences or related disciplines and 2) have completed postdoctoral training.
