Leidos Defense Systems currently has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, experienced Explosives Ordnance Technician to perform ordnance testing and assembly operations. The prime responsibilities include, but are not limited to, support of test activities on active test ranges and facilities, assembly/disassembly operations with explosive munitions and materials, development of procedures for munitions assembly/disassembly operations at various facilities and supervisory role for technicians performing similar activities.
Additional responsibilities include instructing explosive safety courses and revision of course material; acts as Senior Advisor to Corporate Management for explosive operations and RED Team support to the customer.
Support and develop procedure of and for assembly/disassembly operations and with explosive munitions and materials. A well as the support of test activities with munitions.
Basic Qualifications
- Candidate must possess a High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of experience with the safe operations with ordnance to include identification and handling requirements.
- Must be a graduate of the U.S. DoD Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) school and been awarded the Master EOD Badge.
- Experience with both foreign and domestic ordnance items is required.
- Must have experience in the development of standard operating procedures for the safe disassembly, modification and assembly of both U.S. and foreign munitions for the purpose of research and development testing.
- Knowledge of and hands on experience in non-destructive examination practices i.e. X-ray interpretation of munition test articles pre and posttest is preferred. Candidate must have Instructor qualifications.
- Effective communicate in both oral and written form.
Must be a U.S. citizen, possess and maintain a final DoD secret clearance.
Must be a resident of Huntsville, Alabama or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, Alabama area.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Engineering developing work instructions to support both production and ordnance operations.
Experience preparing training documentation and instruct others in the safe practices associated with working with and around explosives and ammunition.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $55,250.00 - $99,875.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
