Job Summary
The Leidos National Security Sector is seeking a Sr Aerospace System Engineer (SE) for a large, multi-year contract supporting critical development programs. The selected candidate will capture and develop requirements and provide architecture recommendations • Perform Analysis of Options and making evidence based recommendations on possible Courses of Action • Review technical packages (ex. proposals, drawings, ICDs, architectures) and provide technical and programmatic recommendations in alignment with mission needs and overall strategy • Develop information packages to support custom acquisition management (SOW, SRD, Schedules, Letters and Memos, Budget and funding projections and requests) • Anticipate, Mitigate, and debug component integration issues • Review formal acceptance test plans and test cards and run-for-record execution. • Keep tabs on applicable future technologies. Identify technology incorporation opportunities and provide recommendations to adapt them
Job requirements:
Must possess an active TS/SCI and be willing to take a polygraph examination.
Bachelor's degree in engineering field with 12+ years of experience in engineering disciplines with experience with full-lifecycle systems engineering processes with prior extensive prior experience working in aviation domain.
Able to work in a dynamic and changing environment that will require tailoring and adapting systems engineering principles and processes to meet the speed and needs of the mission.
Ability and willingness to develop detailed familiarity with aircraft system architectures, requirements baselines, and payload capabilities.
Demonstrated experience working with multiple stakeholders to build partnerships and foster relationships.
Ability to effectively work with a diverse (engineers/operators/management) team that may be geographically dispersed.
Demonstrated experience pro-actively identifying risks and issues prior to realization, and developing and making recommendations to avoid, mitigate, or accept.
Expertise and ability to support working tasks with limited guidance and supervision.
Desired skills: • Knowledge of flight dynamics, flying qualities, and the national airspace system. •Knowledge of guidance, control, and navigation (GNC). • Prior Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) experience. • Deep engineering domain experience in airborne systems (manned or unmanned). • Deep expertise in one or more of the Duties/Tasks areas. • Masters or graduate-level coursework in Engineering field, preferably Systems Engineering or with significant SE coursework.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
