Position Information:
The full salary range for the Risk Management Analyst II is $26.82 - $46.17 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $35.92 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Under the supervision of the Risk Management Supervisor, the Risk Management Analyst II assists with claims intake, investigation, expert retention, and coordination of evidence pertaining to claims or suits involving general liability, automobile liability, employment liability, cyber liability, and property programs. Liaison with all campus departments and point person in coordinating information and documentation needed by the UC third-party administrator in adjusting auto, litigated and non- litigated GL and property programs, fine arts, including making recommendations to Third Party Administrator on all aspects of claims. Assist subrogation adjusters, attorneys and witnesses in lengthy and complex investigations of claims and suits, respond to discovery requests and inspections of property for subrogation claim/suits. Directly works with independent adjusters handling large losses, including keeping all stakeholders up to date on the progress of the claim, obtaining and providing relevant claim information to independent adjusters and department point person. Creates and maintains asset inventories (inclusive of fine art, UC vehicles, etc.) to report up to UCOP on an annual basis.

Works on casualty, property, employee injury, and loss prevention programs and services where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

- Coordinates the auto physical damage program by working as liaison with the TPA and Campus Departments including but not limited to obtaining the loss reports, photos, entering loss information into IVOS, obtaining police reports, incident reports and other relevant reports, forward estimates of repair and final invoices, and forward to third party administrator. Provide incident report, pictures and estimates for repair for university-owned vehicles alongside final invoice(s). Directly works with independent adjusters handling large losses, including keeping all stakeholders up to date on progress of the claim, obtaining and providing relevant claim information to independent adjuster and department point person.
Coordinates general liability and property claims (including transit losses and fine arts) by insuring completion of the incident report and inventory of damaged (repairable) and/or destroyed property, requests and obtains original invoices of damaged/destroyed property, entry into IVOS, recommends independent investigator and/or claims adjuster as needed. Liaison between campus departments and TPA including verifying details of the loss, obtain information re: proof of ownership, photos of damaged property, obtain invoices re: costs of repair or replacement, obtain any additional information as needed; provide the TPA with funding information, follow up with the completion of a journal entry and funding from UCOP to the departments to ensure reimbursement is received by campus departments.
Notifies the WC Program Lead of any employee injuries known at the time the claim is reported to EHS ORIM.
- Create and maintain UCR vehicle inventory, determine category of vehicle, assess appropriate self-insurance premium for purposes of auto liability, physical damage and administrative fees for all campus-owned vehicles. Prepare journals and documentation of charges assessed for each vehicle for analysis and recommendations.
Compiles monthly employment complaint and grievance data, and enter new claims and incidents into IVOS for employment liability needed.
Liaison between EHS ORIM and campus departments and museums that maintain a fine arts collection in order to create and maintain the campus Fine Arts Inventory spreadsheet. Consult with campus departments on issues concerning security and value of fine arts collections. Handle traveling arts exhibitions to insure fine arts while in UCR custody.
Provides information annually to UCOP for the Aviation Insurance Renewal which includes independent pilots unmanned balloons, unmanned aircraft including drones, charters, pilot information for approved employee-pilots.
Obtains information on ownership and/or operation of watercraft by Campus departments, provides broker with quarterly reports including boat inventory for purposes of confirming coverage for campus watercraft.
