  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM

  • 2nd Shift: 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM

Job Overview



STS Technical Services is hiring CNC Machinists (Levels I-IV) for a variety of positions in Brookfield, Wisconsin. As a CNC Machinist, you will perform setup, operation, and programming of complex machined components across various industries. We offer 1st and 2nd shift opportunities, with 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday. Join our team and work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on precision and quality.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities



Level I:





  • Operate CNC machine tools and check parts for conformance to specifications.

  • Ability to follow written or verbal job-related instructions and perform repetitive machining tasks.

  • May run multiple machines simultaneously in a production cell.

  • Basic blueprint reading and basic math skills required.



Level II:





  • Operate machine tools from written setup instructions, making offset adjustments to optimize part conformance to prints.

  • Ability to read blueprints and correlate that to inspection protocol and documentation.

  • Assist in machine setup under supervision and mentor Level I operators on specific tasks.

  • Knowledge of GD&T and basic math skills required.



Level III:





  • Set up repeat jobs that are fully documented and run first pieces to print specifications.

  • Basic programming knowledge and ability to make edits if needed.

  • Strong understanding of GD&T tolerancing and use of advanced shop math, including trigonometry and geometry.

  • Train operators and assist with troubleshooting.



Level IV:





  • Set up jobs from scratch and create setup documentation to aid future setups.

  • Strong knowledge of programming and ability to perform complex machining tasks.

  • Diagnose and adjust equipment as necessary, inspecting parts to ensure they meet print specifications.

  • Lead, mentor, and train other machinists and CNC operators.

  • Advanced knowledge of GD&T and the use of advanced shop math required.



Qualifications



Level I





  • Education: High school diploma required; CNC Technical Diploma preferred.

  • Experience: 1 year or less of machining experience.

  • Skills: Ability to read basic blueprints and perform repetitive machining tasks.



Level II





  • Education: High school diploma required; CNC Technical Diploma preferred.

  • Experience: 2+ years of machining experience.

  • Skills: Ability to read blueprints at a basic level and use GD&T.



Level III & IV





  • Education: High school diploma required; CNC technical diploma preferred.

  • Experience: 5+ years of machining experience.

  • Skills: Proficient in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and advanced shop math (trigonometry and geometry).



Physical and Mental Demands





  • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours, with frequent bending, twisting, and reaching.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and work in various physical conditions.

  • Must be able to work in a factory environment, exposed to noise, fumes, and occasional exposure to hazardous materials.



Working Environment





  • Climate-controlled factory setting.

  • Exposure to loud noises, moving mechanical parts, and occasional fumes/particles.
