Enrollment Bursar Director POSITION DETAILS Medgar Evers College (MEC), a nationally recognized leader in urban-serving education, is one of twenty five colleges within the dynamic City University New York (CUNY) System. Reporting to the SVP of Administration & Finance/ COO or Designee, the Bursar manages the operations and staff responsible for the collection of all tuition and non instructional fees, and the recording and safeguarding of these funds. The Bursar is responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service to students, internal and external stakeholders across all communication platforms. The Bursar is also responsible for timely and professional engagement to inquiries related to the processing of all transactions impacting student accounts. Responsibilities include: -Leads staff and manages daily operations, including the collection and processing of College Revenue and departmental receipts; ensures operations are conducted in compliance with -University policy; ensures exceptional customer service to students and campus stakeholders; -Manages the distribution of employee payroll checks. -Researches and recommends initiatives to ensure operations are most effective and efficient manner consistent with industry norms -Manages the 1098T Tax processes and reporting for the College. -Serves as College representative on both University councils and campus committees, as required. -Directs College student accounts operations and activities. -Designs, implements, and monitors an array of functions in the billing and collection of student receivables. -Develops strategic plan; assesses outcomes and formulates responses to improve student revenue performance. -Ensures reporting requirements are completed in a timely and accurate manner to fulfill various legal obligations. -Counsels students in meeting college financial obligations, including current tuition, prior receivables, the response of payment; respond to student accounts, -Supports and manages the implementation of the Colleges EAB platform for advising appointments in the Student Financials area. -In collaboration with the Enrollment Management team. map out, refine, and document the enrollment process. -Provide student financial information to prospective and continuing students. -Work closely with the recruitment and retention team and attend admissions events -Coordinate outreach in the form of calls, presentations, etc., to various student groups as needed QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.
