POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, participates in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and associated Human Resources (HR) modules. Develops custom reports to meet the requirements of company management and staff. Identifies training needs of end users and provides the necessary training to meet those needs. Hybrid position.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides support for Oracle HRIS.
- Performs research and troubleshooting to resolve system and data related issues.
- Performs scheduled activities and data updates.
- Monitors and administers HRIS interfaces.
- Performs system data and interface audits
- Recommends solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.
- Provides on-going HR activities and project support.
- Recommends process and/or customer service improvements and policy changes.
- Serves as liaison between department and respective application functional and Employee Self Service (ESS) technical team.
- Tests and implements system upgrades/patches and enhancements.
- Develops and runs ad hoc reports or queries using appropriate reporting tools. Assists in development of standard reports for ongoing business area needs. Helps maintain data integrity in systems by running audit reports to verify accuracy and analyzing data.
- Ensures integrity and security of all HR data through the enforcement of procedures and standards.
- Supports Oracle HRIS by assessing and assigning user security for the system as it relates to business needs, maintains system tables, performs mass transactions, provides feedback to update online help, tests system environment, and provides customer support.
- Coordinates data entry for Oracle HRIS including day-to-day system and user support.
- Updates and develops end user training procedures/documentations and guidelines. Trains business users/employees on new systems, processes, and functionalities.

- Maintaining accurate information within Authority systems and databases.
- Providing technical support and assistance in technology system upgrades and implementations.
- Keeping abreast of enhancements to current applications and new trends and software.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human Resources, or related field, plus three (3) years of experience utilizing an HRIS system, preferably Oracle HRMS Applications such as Taleo ATS, OAB, and Self Service applications, or an equivalent combination of education and experience related to the position.
- Hybrid role
- Requires remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time and constantly operating a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- Service Area Requirement: Exempt (Non-Union) employees must live within the boundaries of the CTA Statutory Service Area either at the time of employment or within 6 months of beginning employment at CTA.
- Working knowledge of Oracle HRMS table structures and relationships.
- Working knowledge of the principles and practices of business user applications.
- Working knowledge of the capabilities and formats of HRIS systems.
- Working knowledge of principles and practices in data entry and system controls.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point), VISIO, and MS Project.
- Working knowledge of Trapeze Operations Planning Systems (TOPS) preferred.
- Working knowledge of query/reporting tools: SQL, TOAD and Oracle BI Reports.
- Working knowledge of Taleo Applicant Tracking System is a plus
- Working knowledge of Oracle Technical Reference Manuals (TRM) and with using Oracle Metalink
- Working knowledge of general reporting methods and procedures.
- Working knowledge of human resources principles and processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to evaluate user needs and formulate sound conclusions.
- Ability to verify data and evaluate new computer applications and programs.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve inquiries to analyze data from system.
