Human Resources Specialist - Military Veterans

We are seeking a qualified HR Generalist focused on Talent & Engagement!

This role enhances the employee experience by leading recruitment, onboarding, and engagement initiatives while promoting collaboration, diversity, equity, and inclusion. This role partners with hiring managers and employees to ensure HR policies are upheld, performance management processes are effective, and professional development opportunities are maximized. The position plays a key role in building a dynamic and inclusive workplace that attracts, retains, and develops top talent.

All positions require self-starters with excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organization, and attention to detail. Success in this role depends on the ability to work collaboratively while managing multiple deadlines and projects.

**Essential Responsibilities**

*Recruitment and Onboarding:*
- Partner with hiring managers to define staffing needs, create job descriptions, and manage candidate sourcing, screening, and selection.
- Maintain HR and recruiting systems, manage job postings, candidate communications, and compliance records.
- Screen candidates, conduct interviews, coordinate panels, and process reference checks.
- Act as the main contact for new hires, coordinating onboarding tasks and scheduling orientations.

*Employee Relations & Engagement:*
- Advise employees and managers on workplace issues, facilitating resolutions in partnership with HR leadership.
- Lead employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, data analysis, and action plans.
- Manage employee gift and recognition programs and support organizational events that promote culture, team building, and inclusion.

*Performance Management & Training:*
- Oversee performance reviews, goal-setting, and feedback cycles.
- Support professional development by identifying training needs and tracking employee growth.
- Assist supervisors with Performance Improvement Plans and monitor performance trends.

*HR Policy & Compliance:*
- Assist in developing and enforcing HR policies to support employee development and engagement.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

**Knowledge and Skills Required**
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field; PHR/SHRM certification preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in HR, talent management, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, recruitment processes, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to build trust and positive relationships across teams.
- Commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI).
- Event coordination and team-building skills.
- Proficiency in HR systems, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft Office.

**Work Environment**
- Occasional work outside normal hours and travel as required.
- Must maintain professionalism and courtesy at all times.
