Accounting Clerk - Military Veterans

As an AP/AR Clerk, you will play a critical role in managing our company’s financial processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment processing, reconciliations, and account management. You’ll be responsible for supporting the finance team with month-end closings, audits, and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable:
Review, verify, and process invoices and purchase orders for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Prepare and process electronic transfers, ACH payments, and checks in a timely manner.
Reconcile accounts payable transactions, vendor statements, and bank statements to ensure accuracy.
Maintain and update vendor records, respond to inquiries, and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
Process employee expense reports and ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policies.
Perform credit card reconciliations by matching receipts with statements.
Accounts Receivable:
Generate and issue accurate invoices to customers.
Monitor accounts for overdue payments and follow up with customers to ensure timely collections.
Apply payments to customer accounts, resolve discrepancies, and maintain detailed records.
Prepare and maintain aging reports, ensuring collections targets are met.
General Accounting and Administrative Support:
Participate in month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and reporting.
Assist with 1099 preparation and compliance.
Support audits by providing required documentation and resolving discrepancies.
Collaborate with the accounting team to identify and implement process improvements.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support team success.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting roles.
Familiarity with audits, 1099 preparation, and month-end closing processes.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reconciliation.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and accounting software
Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with vendors and clients.
Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
