Operator - Military Veterans

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Responsible for operating equipment as directed and specified while adhering to all rules and regulations mandated by Mortenson safety policies and procedures.

The base compensation range for this role is $25-$35 per hour. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skill and experience with consideration given to internal equity.

A. Operate the following equipment based on the requirements of the project:
1. Blade
2. Dozer
3. Loader
4. Scraper
5. Forklift/Telehandler
6. Crane
7. Bobcat/Skid-steer
8. Boom Lifts/Aerial Lifts
9. Roller
10. Backhoe
11. Track Crane
12. Track Hoe
13. Main Line
14. Any other equipment as needed

B. Follow prescribed safety regulations

C. Ensure that all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned area

D. Perform routine maintenance to include lubricating, fueling and cleaning

E. Observe equipment operation to detect machine malfunction

F. Follow work plans and pre-task cards

G. Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels

H. All other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

D. Ability to move levers, shift gears, depress pedals and maneuver steering wheel to operator equipment

E. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction,

G. Understand and apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, & multiplication)

H. Ability to work independently
