Research Data Analyst (RSCH DATA ANL 2) Job Summary The Analyst will work as a member of the CARE Lab and will be involved in research and educational projects on reproductive and birth justice including discovery (e.g., racism and adverse birth outcomes) and intervention (e.g., guaranteed income supplement programs) projects. Tasks will be assigned by Principal Investigators, Supervisors, and Senior Analysts and will include data acquisition and management; literature reviews; support for manuscripts, reports, and other written products; IRB protocol development; and other administrative functions related to projects. Apply By Date 01/21/2025 by 11:59 pm Qualifications Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position Bachelor's degree in Human Ecology or related field. Experience performing and summarizing scientific literature reviews. Experience with research data acquisition. Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or related database management software. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and prepare well-organized text, tables, and figures, conveying complex information intelligibly for both professional and lay audiences. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in the field of public health, family studies, social work, or social epidemiology or field of similar study. Experience obtaining, managing, and/or analyzing large datasets for multidisciplinary research projects. Knowledge of and ability to adhere to University and departmental policies and procedures, and/or Sponsor requirements for maintaining confidentiality of all private information (clinical, criminal, and personal). Ability to work collegially in a diverse environment; maintaining the highest degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and diplomacy at all times. Ability to work on several projects concurrently involving several sources of oversight. General understanding of mixed methods study design. Key Responsibilities 40% - Data Collection & Analysis 40% - Research Study Support 20% - Research Compliance & Administrative Support Department Overview The CARE (Community Strategies to Advance Reproductive Justice and Equity) Lab, located in the Department of Human Ecology at the University of California at Davis is led by Dr. Brittany Chambers Butcher who is a nationally recognized Black woman reproductive justice scholar, seeks a limited term, research data analyst to work on various research projects focused on better understanding and dismantling racism experienced by Black women and birthing people. Department Specific Job Scope The mission of the CARE Lab is to partner with community to: (1) Explore how racism impacts Black women and birthing people's lives to develop novel measures of interpersonal and structural racism; (2) Develop policies and interventions to dismantle racism; and (3) Train community researchers to design, implement, and disseminate studies in their communities to advance Black reproductive health. At any given time, the CARE Lab has three research studies.
