Senior Quality and Safety Advisor | University of California San Francisco - Military Veterans

As a recognized quality and safety expert, the Senior Quality and Safety Advisor is responsible for facilitating safety risk reduction activities at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals (BCH). Reporting to the Director of Patient Safety for Benioff Children's Hospitals, the Senior Quality Safety Advisor applies comprehensive knowledge of clinical operations and quality and safety concepts to lead complex projects of large scale and scope that have critical impact throughout the organization. This role is integral to the successful mitigation of patient safety events and risks at BCH-San Franscisco and BCH-Oakland and has significant cross-bay impact. The Advisor is responsible for identifying problem prone processes, organizational gaps, and emerging safety risks, and facilitates problem solving with clinical and operational teams to develop sustainable, effective solutions. The Senior Quality and Safety Advisor will oversee all aspects of management related to monitoring and facilitation of risk reduction plan completion. With guidance from BCH Quality and Safety, this role will function independently, as well in close collaboration will all levels of leadership of departments and services across BCH. The advisor applies effective communication, organizational skills, and facilitation methods to successfully implement effective risk reduction strategies to prevent harm. In addition to above responsibilities, the Senior Quality and Safety Advisor will support BCH harm reduction inititiatives and activities related to Solutions for Patient Safety in partnership with BCH Quality and Safety, clinical and operational leaders, and subject matter experts. The advisor will play a critical role in supporting structures that drive the success of harm reduction activities across BCH. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $164,400 - $253,300 (Annual Rate).
