Field Service Specialist - Military Veterans

POSITION SUMMARY:         

 

Gaumard’s Field Technical Support team are trained product experts who are adept in troubleshooting and repairing product-related technical issues related to our wide variety of human patient simulators. Our Specialist diagnoses and repairs simulators using light hand or electronics equipment. 

 

Our ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, is well versed in reading schematics, and has extensive electronics repair experience. You are naturally a solutions-oriented individual who enjoys interacting with end-users to resolve tech-related issues, provide timely resolution of customer issues, and internal support teams with product-related problems.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: 

Receives direct supervision from management personnel; may assist other departmental employees in performing the job functions. Does not supervise any other position(s). 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Conducts onsite visits to hospitals, universities, medical centers, and other customer sites to inspect, diagnose, and repair Gaumard’s simulator product using light hand tools or electronics equipment.
  • Follows schematics, drawings, diagrams, samples; or written/verbal instructions in order to troubleshoot and/or repair simulators during the course of a single visit. 
  • Completes repairs and verifies functionality in both a neatly and timely fashion.
  • Performs in-service training and installation of Hi-Fidelity simulators at customer sites.
  • Participates in Conference calls with customers.
  • Provides superior customer service in order to achieve service excellence
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: 

 

  • Associate’s degree in a technical or medical area or equivalent experience.    Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to work extended hours (after 5:00 p.m. and/or weekends) to complete tasks or projects.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems in a constantly changing environment.
  • Self-starter with ability to perform under pressure.
  • Experience with workstation software and hardware installation, upgrades, and repairs
  • Experienced with: MS Windows XP and above, MS NT Server, MS SQL, MS Exchange, MS Outlook, MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), CRM Software
  • Excellent communications and time management skills.
  • Ability to travel 75% or more of the domestically as well as overseas, as needed.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.

 

 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: 

 

  • Ability to express and exchange ideas and information in both written and verbal formats to convey detailed instructions with accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate (read and write) effectively in a business environment. 
  • Ability to follow procedures and instructions.
  • Ability to sit at a desk for long periods to assemble documentation and record data.
  • Ability to walk the facilities to collect necessary data.
  • Ability to lift, pull, push and carry objects and supplies (up to 75lbs).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use his/her fingers. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in determining how to conduct assigned tasks. 
  • Should possess excellent eye-to-hand coordination and manual dexterity. 
  • The employee is interchangeably required to sit, stand, and walk.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM must be willing and able to work some Saturdays or stay beyond scheduled shift if needed to meet business demands.
