Software Quality Assurance Analyst and Tester, Journeyman/Junior

Amentum, a large government contract company, is seeking a full-time Software Quality Assurance Analyst and Tester, Journeyman/Junior, for the RMAC program, located in California, Maryland. This is a full-time position supporting

REQUIREMENTS / RESPONSIBILTIES

• Develop and execute software tests to identify software problems and their causes.
• Test system modifications to prepare for implementation.
• Document software and application defects using a bug tracking system and report defects to software or web developers.
• Create and maintain databases of known defects.
• May participate in software design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, operational characteristics, product designs, and schedules.
• Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate government owned software system.
• Perform software updates, troubleshooting, hardware configuration, system security, and basic system maintenance.
• Communicate regularly with the Program/Regional Manager to report on operations and resolve any outstanding issues.

• Oversee the completion of all required documentation, both manual and electronic, Ensure that all safety, quality, and procedure compliance requirements are met in the performance of duties.
• Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring that all quality assurance requirements are met effectively and efficiently.

• Because of extensive knowledge of the system may perform duties as a trainer.
• Travel up to 50% of the time.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Bachelors Degree required in computer science or programming.
• Minimum of two years of experience in computer science or programming roles.
• Military or Department of Defense experience strongly preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex situations.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with military personnel, contractors, and customers.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain any necessary facilities credentials/authorization. (U.S. citizenship required.)

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Climate-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
• Regularly required to use hands, talk, and hear. Frequently required to walk and sit. Occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
