Director, Undergraduate Recruitment | Morgan State University - Military Veterans

Recruitment Strategizes, develops, and implements a comprehensive annual and longer-term undergraduate recruitment plan in consultation with the AVP for EMASS, the Director of Admission Operations, and internal and external partners. Components of the plan will include but are not limited to, the following: development of an inquiry pool through the use of student search services, college fairs and high school visits, high school and community college relations, use of the web and emerging technologies, digital marketing and communication strategies, effective use of CRM technologies, campus visit programs, publications, and correspondence. Anticipates and plans for emerging issues related to student recruitment. Oversees the day-to-day execution of strategies and tactics to meet the University?s recruitment goals. Leads the planning and execution of high-impact strategies, events, and programs to attract and enroll a highly qualified, talented, and diverse student body. Participates directly in recruitment events and travel as needed. Manages the development of the prospect and inquiry pools, conversion, and yield aspects of the enrollment funnel and works closely with the Director of Admission Operations, who manages the funnel's application processing and application review aspects. Works closely with the Director of Admission Operations to ensure optimal student experience throughout the recruitment, application processing and review, admission, and onboarding process. Supports the development and execution of the University?s financial aid leveraging strategy, working closely with the Director of Financial Aid, SVP for EMASS, and the AVP for EMASS in this effort. Office Management Recruits, recommends for hiring, trains, manages, coaches, and evaluates recruitment personnel. Develops and maintains job descriptions for assigned positions. Plans direct and delegates work to assigned staff. Provides leadership for the professional development of staff as individual and team contributors to ensure high-quality staff performance. Cultivates a culture of collegiality, collaboration, and excellence. Regularly engages in professional development to remain current in the field, such as self-directed professional reading, networking with colleagues, and participating in conferences and trainings. Ensures that the Recruitment unit adheres to office, divisional, and institutional policies and procedures, federal and state regulations, and the ethical standards of NACAC and other professional associations. Establishes, implements, and evaluates office policies and procedures in consultation with the AVP for EMASS. Prepares and effectively manages the departmental budget. Building and strengthening partnerships Proactively networks and collaborates with all levels of the university to build effective relationships that continuously enhance recruitment strategies and actions and ensure a superior experience for students at all stages of the recruitment process. Represents the Office of Undergraduate Recruitment and EMASS on university committees, task forces, special assignments, and at internal and external meetings as needed. Partners with the Office of Alumni Relations and Strategic Engagement to manage and enhance the Office of Undergraduate Recruitment?s domestic and international alumni recruiting network. Establishes, maintains, strengthens, and expands partnerships with feeder high schools, school districts, community colleges, and external entities to continuously enhance Morgan?s visibility and recruitment efforts. Planning and Reporting Utilizes research and information technologies to conduct market analysis and forecasting, develop new markets, and create recruitment goals. Provides leadership in planning, managing, and achieving the university?s strategic recruitment and enrollment goals. Collects, analyzes, and uses admissions and enrollment data to meet immediate and long-range university objectives. Maximizes the use of technology to improve efficiency and enhance data-informed decision-making. Remains current on innovative management tools, the competitive landscape, and best practices in the field. Maintains awareness of internal and external environmental trends and communicates those that may impact enrollment at Morgan. Recommends adjustments to admission policies and requirements. Oversees the accurate tracking of off-site recruitment activities (high schools, college fairs, etc.), campus visits (including daily tours, open houses, yield events, etc.), goal progress, and other recruitment-related statistics; prepares regular reports for the AVP of EMASS on activities, funnel progress, visitor/event attendance, return on investment of various recruitment activities, and the effectiveness of the admissions communications flow. Makes mid-course corrections as needed to ensure that recruitment goals are met. Communicates changes, statistics, and other information to the AVP of EMASS and, upon request, to other leaders and stakeholders, including academic leadership and other administrative and department heads. Routinely assists the AVP of EMASS in the preparation of reports and delivers presentations as required to the University?s Cabinet, Board of Regents, and other entities. Other duties as assigned
