General Summary: The position is responsible for the material planning, purchasing, scheduling, and supplier relationship for assigned product lines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan for and process daily Job Traveler Packages for all centrifuge production activiteis.
• Monitor and review Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) suggestions.
• Create Purchase Orders and Job Travelers based upon MRP.
• Schedule jobs based upon material availability and manufacturing resources.
• Manage inventory for assigned product lines to ensure inventory is available for customer orders without resulting in excess or obsolete inventory and keeping inventory investment at a minimum.
• Manage supplier relationships.
• Strive to obtain the lowest total cost for inventory.
• Maintain and publish supplier performance scorecards, as needed.
• Analyze inventory to establish safety stock, planning parameters, and other standards to provide an uninterrupted flow of materials to manufacturing.Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Personable, professional phone skills.
• Must be well organized, efficient, and a self-starter
• Ability to facilitate meetings and prepare presentations, as needed.
• Ability to negotiate with suppliers.
• Understand current industry and government regulations as it impacts the supply chain.

Desired Education and/or Experience:

• B.S. in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field is preferred.
• A.S. in a business-related discipline plus at least two years’ experience in a purchasing or planning role OR the equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
• APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management is a plus.
• Alternate education and experience considered based on individual candidate.

Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Computer Skills:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, is required.
• Experience with an ERP system is required; experience with Epicor is a plus.

Physical Demands:

• Sitting, 6+ hours per workday.
• Standing, up to 2 hours per workday.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Work Environment: Office and Manufacturing Environment

Travel Requirements: Infrequent and usually between office locations.
