Based on the semester-to-semester need of the department, as determined by the supervisor, candidates may be asked to teach online, if applicable. This position is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Salary/Pay Range : $50,000 Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications.

Summary

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS) invites applications for a full time Assistant Teaching Professor, with benefits, starting August 2025.

Applications must include a letter of application, a curriculum vitae, a teaching statement, and three letters of recommendation, at least two highlighting teaching. A demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching is required. The teaching statement should detail the experience in teaching mathematics courses, including a brief description of the courses taught, and it should highlight any innovative teaching approaches, if applicable. Essential Functions

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Typically teaching 24 credit hours per academic year
  • Typically teaching 6-8 lower and upper undergraduate level courses
  • Support the departmental goals in undergraduate education
  • Potential for summer teaching opportunities

Tentative Search Timeline
  • Priority will be given to applications submitted by Monday, January 27, 2025.
  • Potential Interview Dates: Starting the week of February 17, 2025.
  • Potential start date: August 15, 2025.


Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Mathematics or a closely-related field is required. Must be concurred no later than August 15, 2025.
  • Applicants must have at least two years of teaching experience in secondary or higher education.
  • A PhD in Mathematics or a closely-related field is preferred.
