LSA Technology Services Learning and Teaching Consultants seek an Instructional Design and Accessibility Consultant who is flexible, dedicated to improving learning and teaching, and willing to learn new things. We hope to hire a candidate who is committed to LSA's instructional mission.

This position will specialize in hands-on assistance to faculty, working directly with instructors on their class materials to increase the accessibility of those materials. This may include but is not limited to, creating and disseminating accessible Canvas and file templates, consulting with faculty grant recipients on accessible and universal course design, promoting the implementation of a new accessibility tool in Canvas, and developing and delivering specialized accessibility workshops. The position will also supervise and coordinate the work of several temp employees to assist with course remediation. Technical accessibility tasks may include composing and adding field-suitable alt text, liaising with the Libraries to secure updated, tagged PDFs of articles, and assisting in re-designing class activities to include multiple means of perception and expression. Candidates will need at least basic familiarity with instructional design, and a solid grounding in the principles of Universal Design for Learning. This is an intermediate-level position, so the ability to carry out tasks independently and ask for assistance when a project grows in scope is critical.
