Generator Mechanic-2 - Military Veterans

Purpose: Operates and maintains motor generators, power generators and back-up generators.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs heavy equipment maintenance activities including installation, repair, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance.
- Maintains, repairs, and service Power Generators at the unit, direct support, and general support maintenance level.
- Performs daily preventative maintenance, including but not limited to, fueling, fluid checks, and overall functionality of power generating equipment at remote sites.
- Performs direct support maintenance functions including replacing/overhauling major engine components, troubleshooting fuel, electrical or engine problems.
- Additional responsibility for ordering and receiving service and replacement parts, coordinating generators and fuel tanks, and inspecting and maintaining fuel tanks, and electrical wiring.
- Routine travel to remote site facilities by vehicle
- Work may be reviewed by supervisor for compliance to accepted practices.
- Ensures strict compliance to safety practices and support the Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Instills a safety-first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries.
- Adheres to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of Quality Management System.
- Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- 2-5 years related experience.
- Primary and secondary Power Equipment training required.
- Electrical Safety training required.
- Lightning surge suppression equipment training required.
Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must be able to read electrical schematic and perform technical inspections.
- Must speak, read, and write English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- International driver's license prior to deployment preferred.
Certification, License & Clearance:
- Valid US Driver's license required.
- US Citizenship required.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a CAC, if required.
Facility credentials/authorization required:
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility and credential /authorization:
Note- US Citizenship is required for facility credential/authorization at this work location.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
- Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
- Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
- When performing work, responsible for adhering to environmental, safety, and health standards related to the activity, including the wearing of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
