The Media Planning Manager (MPM) is responsible for the collection of media component details, media plan creation, flat plan creation & management and the accuracy of the plans proposed to the clients for digital and print proposals. Providing reporting relating to media plan creation, revenue tracking and forecasting.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Media Plan Management

  • Work closely with the Account Directors (AD) division/Sales to support in media planning requests that come through from their dedicated hub groups/patch.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders such as yield, finance, paid social, product team, production and more to collate and keep up to date any information that would be shared with the client through a media plan.
  • Follow business rules around step in and added value in order for the media plan created to pass yield's approval.
  • MPM is responsible for creating all media proposals across print, digital and fully integrated campaigns either through generating the media proposal in the system or offline via email.
  • Keep track of display takeover planner, print anniversaries/inventory and inform AD/sales when deadlines are coming up.
  • Communicate to AD/sales when inventory availabilities are shrinking ahead of time.
  • Have a wide understanding of commercial opportunities in the market and anything relating to that, such as conversion rate, brands and product opportunities.
  • MPM should be able to provide AD/Sales team with any media planning analysis required to support in the evaluation of account/agencies.


Print Management
  • Create the most efficient management of the print book whilst still meeting what clients require and the needs of our own business, as well as building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Working with editorial and commercial team to meet ad requirements
  • Managing constantly changing plans - updating and reissuing
  • Managing inventory and liaising with agency and client teams to ensure revenues are maximised
  • Attend monthly issue planning meetings where necessary with production and editorial to discuss any major problems/changes for that issue
  • Check marketing planner and book the proposed marketing pages onto booking system for the current and next issue if necessary
  • Liaise with editorial, marketing, events, circulation and research teams to create additional pages to fill unsold ad inventory and book and place additional marketing page
  • Update revenue in brand trackers as required
  • Primary point of contact for finance department and PDs for print performance (branded content and display)
  • Work with production team to ensure client materials are delivered in time.
  • Attend editorial dummy meetings, ensuring any ad changes are within booking guarantees and any changes to branded content pages are reflected back to PM.
  • Brand guardianship - ensuring all clients are compliant with brand rules and terms and all advertisers reflect the brands values, ethos and environment.
  • Pagination analysis and pagination forecasting using data and trends of ad market
  • Assisting with revenue forecasts for print and managing allocated budgets.
