DESCRIPTION

Join Michael Baker International as a Project Manager in our Lakewood, CO Office and contribute to the growth of our Highway Design team. The successful applicant will offer technical expertise, assistance, and planning while actively engaging with the Transportation community through involvement in professional organizations.

  • The successful candidate will deliver projects per agreed-to plan, budget, and quality objectives.
  • Under limited supervision, plans, designs, and analyzes data on civil engineering projects such as roads, multimodal facilities, railroads, bridges, drainage systems, and utilities, while also preparing complex studies, construction documents, drawings, maps, and exhibits.
  • The successful candidate will cultivate and maintain client relationships as well as lead proposal development and interview preparation and participation.
  • Prepare quantities and construction cost estimates.
  • Visit work sites as needed.
  • Communicate with supervisor and clients regarding project issues.
  • Lead/conduct project meetings.
  • Define and manage scope, schedule, and budgets for projects.
  • Support and initiate marketing efforts.
  • Maintain task budgets and schedules.
  • Coordinate with engineers and technicians to ensure timely and accurate document and drawing preparation.
  • Maintain technical knowledge through completion of various training initiatives: attend seminars and industry events, review professional publications, and attend in-house trainings as required.
  • Prepare permit information for clients.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
  • Other duties as assigned.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field. A master's degree can be substituted for 1-2 years of experience.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in the state of Colorado.
  • Knowledge of Roadway Design manuals and standards.
  • Proficient in highway design software, including but not limited to: Microstation, AutoCAD, InRoads, Open Roads, Civil3D
  • Major ROW impacts analysis
  • Major geometry changes or new complex alignments
  • Highly restrictive site conditions
  • Major utility impacts
  • Cost estimates
  • Staged construction
  • A strong track record of coordinating successful project delivery of various Transportation projects for CDOT and other agencies is required.

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $97,600-$153,000. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate. This role is also eligible for a discretionary bonus based upon corporate and individual performance.
