Responsibilities
About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Project Planner to join our team. The primary focus of this role is to support resource capacity planning across our project portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, data analysis, and resource planning. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to ensure optimal resource allocation and project success.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of resource plans for multiple projects within the portfolio
- Collaborate with project managers, resource managers, and stakeholders to understand resource needs and constraints; develop and maintain resource data and tools to support decision-making
- Participate in project planning meetings to provide insights on resource availability and constraints
- Monitor and report on resource capacity and utilization metrics to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines
- Analyze resource utilization data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
- Provide recommendations for resource forecast adjustments based on data analysis and project priorities
- Assist in the preparation of resource capacity reports and presentations for senior management
- Support the implementation of resource management best practices and processes
- Actively support and promote consistent application of GPPM processes and procedures
- Foster and champion an environment that promotes trust, self-development, continuous improvement, innovation and quality outcomes
- Capture and distribute meeting minutes highlighting decisions, action items, issues, risks, and key discussion topics as needed
Qualifications

- Proven experience and knowledge of the discipline of project management including common principles, methodologies and tools used by practitioners
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to tailor the message based on the audience
- Strong problem-solving, multi-tasking and decision making abilities; detail oriented
- Leadership skills and ability to learn new skills quickly
- Skilled at producing polished reports using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and/or PPM software
- Proactively achieves goals and objectives and applies critical thinking skills in day-to-day problems and solutions
- Ability to demonstrate integrity while successfully managing work demands and pressure; continually pursues personal development
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred
- 1+ years of experience working with resource estimating and project scheduling or related experience required
