Job Summary:
Completes diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on chassis products in a service workshop under limited supervision.
We are looking for a talented Chassis Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Avondale, AZ). will make an impact in the following ways:

This is a Field Service Role ; 2nd Shift (2pm-11:30 pm)
- Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
- Maintain own tools
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
(Intermediate):
- Applies documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools Disassemble,
- Clean and inspect chassis and /or chassis components
- Performs preventative maintenance based on assessment of chassis and chassis components
- Assists more experienced technicians with diagnostics and development of chassis repair plans in the workshop
- Completes required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens
- Completes training in line with skill and business requirements
- Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
- Adheres to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Technician (Preferred). Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution. Locally valid driving permit This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with chassis products
QUALIFICATIONS
This is primarily a field service role with occasional in shop duties.
This role operates on a second shift working evenings.
Occasional weekend work may be required.
This role specifically pertains to completing brake repairs and chassis lube.
DOT
- A current valid license is required for this role
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
- This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
- 3 years driving experience
- This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
-Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
