Financial Aid Associate II - Military Veterans

The Financial Aid Associate II, under general supervision, is accountable for processing federal verification, ensuring compliance, FAFSA corrections, and assisting with outreach to students. In addition, the Financial Aid Associate II is responsible for the Financial Aid Special Circumstance Appeal process. Provides exceptional customer service to students and staff in all aspects of work performed. Serves as Campus Security Authority (CSA).
Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate. Must be able to work remotely when requested by the University.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- 45% Responsible for processing all Federal Verification and ensuring corrections are completed in a timely manner.
- 15% Assisting with verification outreach to students, including assisting with verification events for prospective and current students.
- 15% Manages all Special Circumstance Appeals. Communicates to students and families if appeals are incomplete and provides information on completed appeals.
- 10% Manages the processing of post-baccalaureate forms and consortium agreements, including outreach to students to complete documents.
- 5% Processes the daily reporting audits and does outreach when necessary to students missing information.
- 5% Processes Ad Hoc reports, Drop for Non-pay workflow and other reports as needed, and is back up to 2nd Financial Aid Associate II.
- 5% Meets with students and parents in person, by phone, and assists with FINAID emails and other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree or equivalent of education or experience
- Three years of related experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs.
- Knowledge of Financial Aid principles.
- Customer service and organization skills.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
The target base base hourly compensation is $19.23 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
