    Primary Responsibilities

    The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for duties associated with the preparation of all outbound dispatching for deliveries to customers.  Work closely with drivers, supervisors, and Transportation Manager. 

     

    Work Schedule: Sunday - Thursday

    Sunday: 9am-5pm

    Monday-Thursday-NOON to 8:00PM


    Essential Functions

    • Verify customer invoices
    • Assemble outbound paperwork, print invoices. Record and collate COD information on bills of lading, drivers manifest, logs, pick up paperwork and inspection sheets.
    • Ensure documents are completed and approved properly.
    • Make carrier and vendor appointments as needed
    • Provide clerical assistance as needed.
    • Maintain weekly and monthly transportation reports.
    • Assist sales with tracing orders, and re-routing orders if needed
    • Complete and audit driver’s daily activity reports.
    • Record all COD information on bills of lading.
    • Sort, file, fax, copy and/or distribute paperwork
    • day-to-day routing in order to maximize efficiency and customer service.
    • Must be able to multitask several tasks
    • Must maintain good attendance.
    • Maintain safe work practices.
    • Maintain safeguards of confidential company information.
    • Other duties and special projects as requested.
    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Previous clerical experience and knowledge of operations and transportation functions preferred.
    • Must be proficient with MS Office.
    • Strong data-entry with high rate of accuracy preferred.
    • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

    Qualifications / Additional Skills / Aptitude:

    • Excellent communication, grammar, verbal and writing skills.
    • Must be resourceful and well organized with an ability to work on multiple projects with minimal supervision.
    • Above average telephone skills with experience focusing on customer satisfaction (internal and external).
    • High energy level, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, and flexible.
    • Microsoft Excel Skills (Intermediate/Effective) preferred
