Gas Turbine Electrical Field Engineer - Military Veterans

Amentum is actively seeking a Gas Turbine Electrical Field Engineer for International Fleet Support of LM2500 GTEs under the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) PMS 326 Follow-On Technical Support (FOTS) contract. The work location will be at the Egyptian Naval Base in the port of Alexandria, Egypt.This position includes a competitive benefits package.
Essential responsibilities and daily duties include:
- Provide hands-on Subject Matter Expertise (SME) for LM2500 GTE on Oliver Hazard Perry Class Guided Missile Frigates of the Egyptian Navy.
- Support testing, corrective, and preventive maintenance for the gas turbine propulsion system including control systems and sensors.
- Provide Marine Gas Turbine Inspection (MGTI) level support to assist in troubleshooting, repair, and operations training for GTEs and associated support systems.
- Provide technical oversight, troubleshooting planning, fault isolation, and recommendations for timely and cost-effective maintenance/overhaul actions associated with GTEs and associated support systems.
- Supervise intermediate level gas turbine maintenance including change out of a GTE and subsequent re-tests and certifications.
- Participate as a member of the Amentum Technical Assistance Team (TAT) in close coordination with the TAT Manager. Respond to short-fused tasking requiring emergent travel, when required.
- Collaborate with the Amentum CONUS Team, In-Country Team, FFG Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) Port Engineer, and the Egyptian Navy to provide timely and efficient GTE support for FFG vessels.
- Collaborate with the shipyard planning office and the designated HM&E planner to facilitate FFG GTE workload planning activities.
- Serve as a technical advisor/consultant for FFG GTE planning and workload execution support efforts.
- Provide timely and comprehensive inputs for the Monthly Status Report.
Minimum Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- 6 years of operation, maintenance, and repair experience with LM2500 GTE or related and associated support equipment on naval vessels.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Must be proficient in English.
- Ability to obtain a Country Clearance and Base Pass authorization.
- Ability to possess a current passport at least two years before expiration after arrival in Egypt.
- Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10 years operation, maintenance, and repair experience with LM2500 GTE systems and equipment used on FFG vessels of the Egyptian Navy.
- Certification in Marine Gas Turbine Inspector (MGTI) Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC).
- Prior experience as a USN/USCG E-6 or above Gas Turbine Systems Technician, Electrical on FFG-7, DDG-51, or CG-47 class ships.
- Prior experience at USN Regional Maintenance Centers (RMC).
- Experience working in an Arab country for long periods of time.
