Objectives / Purpose of the Job:
The Systems Engineer I will assist in updating requirements documentation and requirement tracing for business projects. They will collaborate with the R&D Systems Engineering team to ensure consistency in documentation and tracing approach. The role involves working with project teams to identify scope and conduct requirement tracing, writing project plans and traceability summary documents, and generating reports for project release closure.
Key Activities / Responsibilities:
- Read and understand relevant standards and regulations.
- Conduct impact and risk analysis for changes to existing requirements.
- Update requirements and risk documents to support necessary changes.
- Develop plans and protocols to ensure comprehensive testing.
- Perform risk analysis, design mitigations, and trace into product development.
- Maintain the verification and validation (V&V) plan, coordinating with test engineers.
- Assist in the preparation of project plans and traceability documents.
- Provide ongoing support in project release closure.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- No direct reports.
Scope of Position:
- Individual contributor assisting with quick-turn projects essential to maintaining business operations.
Key Relationships:
- Internal: R&D SMEs, Project Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Purchasing, Supplier Quality.
- External: Potential technical interactions with suppliers.
Qualifications / Training:
- Minimum Requirements:
- BS in Engineering (Systems, Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical, or related physical sciences).
- 1-3 years of experience in an engineering role.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- BS in Engineering (Systems, Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical, or related physical sciences).
- Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in a medical device company, including writing or maintaining requirements, reports, and test plans.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry standards (e.g., FDA, MDR, IEC, ISO).
- Experience using tools such as MS Office, ReqPro, ClearQuest, and Aras PLM.
