Compensation: Base rate of pay is $20/hr. When working in a healthcare setting or patient's home diferentials may vary.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Security Officer (Unarmed) is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment within the healthcare facility and patient’s home, specifically when working with patient and medical staff. This role requires experience in security operations and a strong understanding of behavioral health issues.
Responsibilities
You will conduct the following responsibilities upholding Tarian’s commitment to safety and security while supporting the values and culture of the client and community.
- Security Operations: Maintain daily security operations to ensure the safety of patients, staff.
- Incident Response: Respond to any security incidents or emergencies regarding patient and/or nurse. This may include situations that require de-escalation techniques and non-violent crisis intervention.
- Policy Adherence: Adhere to security policies and procedures in line with local, state, and federal laws.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on security incidents and the effectiveness of security measures.
- Patient Interaction: Interact with patients in a respectful and empathetic manner, understanding the unique challenges and behaviors that may be presented by individuals in a behavioral health setting.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in a related field is preferred.
- Previous security experience, preferably in a healthcare or behavioral health environment.
- Training in de-escalation techniques and non-violent crisis intervention.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening, motor vehicle report.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to make quick decisions in high-stress situations.
- Must have reliable transportation to commute to all locations in coverage zone.
Desired Qualification of the Security Officer:
- Previous work experience with the public in a service setting
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This is an ON CALL position. Work hours will vary depending on patient census, and the needs of the company.
- Environment may be fast paced and stressful.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend majority of their time standing or walking.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 80 pounds.
- Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies.
Work Environment:
- This job operates in a healthcare setting, as well as a patient’s home setting. The role may require exposure to potentially high-stress situations.
