Executive Director, Tri-Institutional (Tri-I) Training Programs Title: Executive Director, Tri-Institutional (Tri-I) Training Programs Location: Upper East Side Org Unit: Tri-I Research & Training Work Days: Weekly Hours: 35.00 Exemption Status: Exempt Salary Range: $169,800.00 - $197,400.00 *As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices Position Summary Responsible for leadership and operational management of two Tri-I PhD Programs in Chemical Biology (TPCB) and Computational Biology & Medicine (CBM), which are offered jointly by Weill Cornell Medicine, The Rockefeller University, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, with Cornell University at Ithaca and Cornell Tech faculty also participating in CBM. Job Responsibilities Oversee activities of Tri-Institutional administrative staff including staff schedules, work responsibilities, performance reviews, salary considerations, hiring and promotions. Work with program leaders, and with Tri-I senior administration and staff, to address needs and challenges of both Programs; maintain regular communications on student progress, administrative issues, program modifications including new initiatives. Oversee and facilitate annual recruitment campaigns for the PhD Programs, including national graduate recruiting fairs, interview and recruitment open house visits, and admissions meetings. Oversee and facilitate Program activities and major events, including annual scientific symposia and student retreats, onboarding and orientation, student seminar series, social events, and external advisory board site visits. Oversee and facilitate tracking of graduate student progress to ensure that they are meeting academic milestones. Maintain regular communication with graduate school Deans and staff at The Rockefeller University and Memorial Sloan Kettering to assure that all partners are provided with updates on Tri-I activities. Works with the WC Graduate School Associate Dean of Academic Affairs to review student issues, concerns, administrative challenges, and other graduate school priorities to ensure that Tri-I Programs are in compliance with graduate school policies. Manage financial controls for grants, fellowships, and institutional funds to ensure appropriate use of resources. Manges personnel and stipend allocations, student research allowance expenses, health insurance/fees allocations; expenses for major academic activities; other extraordinary expenses. Oversee and facilitate preparation of NIH T32 grant applications, annual progress reports, and other reports to external agencies by Program Chairs/Directors. Develop and propose annual budgets for students' expenditures and program administration, in conjunction with Tri-I senior administration and finance offices. Education Bachelor's Degree in related field Master's Degree Preferred Experience Approximately 5+ years experience in research administration in an academic setting. Demonstrated experience working in higher education programs. Experienced leader in academic administration, including operations, personnel management, and financial planning and oversight. Experience working with complex computer systems, including SAP and educational software, is also beneficial. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to multi-task both high-priority projects and day-to-day responsibilities is necessary. Ability to facilitate the flow of information through effective written and oral communication Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and database applications.
