Sr. Project Manager
SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking a Sr. Project Manager that will provide Responsible for the management of complex company strategic initiatives to achieve company goals.
Responsible to lead and manage the implementation phases of one or more highly complex IT projects impacting several business functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform end to end project management of medium to large initiatives, including;
- Partnering with business leadership
- Managing project delivery across internal IT
- Partnering with third party vendors and service providers
- Handle all aspects of assigned initiatives; including scope, schedule, budget, risks, and issues
- Establish metrics to proactively identify areas of risk and planning for mitigation
- Manage projects across internal ITS teams, business services groups, field operating groups, and third party software partners
- Engage with cross-functional business teams to ensure access to subject matter experts (SME's)
- Engage with executive sponsors and key stakeholders to report on program status, scope, schedule, and budget
- Promote, provide input, and assist with construction of the Portfolio Management capability
- Provide subject matter expertise in areas including project management, scope definition, risk identification, mitigation, and project financial management
- Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
- Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance
- Shown track record and experience in successfully executing large, complex IT projects in a dynamic environment
- Ability to successfully build team relationships and partnerships across business and IT stakeholders
- Ability to balance conflicting priorities in high-pressure, high-stress situations
- Ability to think strategically, with strong project, issue, and financial management skills
- Ability to interface and communicate effectively with all levels across organizational and operational lines
- Excellent analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines
- Ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment to meet overall objectives
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals
- Seek the "voice of the customer" and develops mechanisms to proactively measure success criteria
- Strong understanding of confidentiality
- High degree of initiative, dependability, and ability to work with little supervision
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills and active listening skills
- General understanding of Business Architecture concepts (capability mapping, blueprinting, etc.) is preferred
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 10 years of IT and business/industry work experience and at least five years in managing large IT, operational and/or business transformation programs
- Previous experience using project management methodologies, including but not limited to; Agile, Standard SDLC and/or Waterfall
- Possesses in-depth understanding of key services, processes, and methodologies applicable to project management
- Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships from executive sponsors to end users
- Demonstrated experience with both 'build' and 'buy' methods for project delivery (software as a service/SaaS, mobile apps, custom solutions and large ERP systems)
- Experience leading cross-functional business and IT teams through the project delivery lifecycle
- Experience with implementing appropriate financial controls within programs and projects
- Experience with service readiness and project implementation planning
- Experience with ITIL and Service Level Management concepts preferred
- Experience with construction, project operations, finance & supply chain projects and/or business preferred
- Experience with business process improvement and/or LEAN methods preferred

The base pay range for this role is $119,500 - $179,300. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
