Energy Storage-Construction Coordinator I - Military Veterans

SUMMARY:

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Construction Coordinator I in our Energy Storage Group with the ability to provide day-to-day support of a specific construction activity with the direct intent to gain the hands-on skills and technical knowledge. Under the direct supervision of project leadership, the Construction Coordinator II will support, learn, and perform the basic requisite skills necessary to eventually work independently within a construction management profession. Work duties and opportunities will expand as the individual gains hands on experience, develops technical aptitude, and demonstrates the ability to perform at his/her level over a period of time.

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skill, and experience with consideration given to internal equity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide specific construction management support; including daily progress reports, reviewing technical documents (blueprints or estimates), and assisting in project start up and closing tasks at the direction of other construction management staff.
  • Review and help maintain supporting documentation (field books, daily reports, and safety logs) in consultation with Superintendents to form conclusion and make recommendations.
  • Arrange trucking, order fulfillment, and delivery of equipment. This includes ensuring orders are correct, equipment is in proper working order, etc.
  • Document work process as it relates to enhancing and or changing current company process standards. Look for opportunities to recommend process efficiency changes.
  • Perform basic field quality and safety inspections, documenting conformance to plans and specs, recommend potential solutions and help promote Mortenson's safety culture.
  • Document progress of construction through tracking photos, manage administration of record keeping.
  • Develop basic spreadsheets and tools for Project leadership's review and decision making which helps track and coordinate aspects of the construction project (e.g. inventory, equipment, purchasing, lean etc.)
  • Demonstrate learned skills and knowledge on a repeatable and continued advanced level
  • Other construction duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and previous experience in CC II
    - or-
  • Non-scientific or math skills-related college degree (e.g., fine arts, philosophy, business)
    - or-
  • 2-year degree in construction
  • Construction experience preferred
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and the internet
  • Ability to learn and utilize different types of computer software used in Construction Management for the purpose of supporting any aspect of a construction project
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
  • Ability to effectively handle detailed information and meet deadlines
  • Ability to multitask

The base compensation range for this role is: $27.02/hr.- $36.49/hr. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%)
