Chemical Production Technician - Military Veterans
at RecruitMilitary Placement Services
Day in the life of the role:
This role is similar to being a baker to the chemists of the company. You will produce the highly purified gases and chemicals for the solar, semiconductor, and most industries around the world. You do not need to be a chemist. This role values standard operating procedures (SOP) and safety above all.
You will make chemical batches by physically pouring the chemicals into the funnel at the beginning of the production line. Some lines are also automated. This depends upon the chemical process. You will then monitor the process using a computer, PLC and taking readings along the production line. You will spend 30% of your time monitoring the systems in the control room. The other 70% will be spent visually monitoring the systems, taking readings outside, and replacing canisters.
Current Needs: Fremont CA: Plenty of overtime available. If you work nights, you will make $36/hour for the first 8 hours. Then $54 for the last 4 hours. First in class benefits package.
Upper Mount Bethel, PA - $29.60/hr. plus a $1.50 shift differential. Plenty of overtime is available. Top tier benefits plus promotion opportunities.
This is a production role, not maintenance position. This means any major maintenance will be conducted by the maintenance team. You are responsible for all production errors or first echelon maintenance.
This role is for someone who can adhere to SOPs, operate safely (see something, say something) and wants production over maintenance.
This is a 12-hour shift role following a 2-2-3 shift schedule in Fremont, CA and a 4 on 4 off schedule in UMB PA. Note, you must be willing to work the night shift. In Fremont, you will work Monday-Tuesday, off Wednesday-Thursday, work Friday-Saturday-Sunday. Then follow the exact opposite days the following week. This two-week schedule repeats. Hours are 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am.
This company's products have reached every aspect of society. You engage their products daily. This means they are very recession resistant. A former Navy officer leads this division. It is the fastest growing and most profitable business unit within the company! All veteran leaders started in this role. It is the feeder into all other roles!
Foundational skills needed for success in the role:
Adhere to SOPs, additionally, being mechanically minded to see the production line in a 3D format to help direct maintenance where any issues may have occurred.
Culture and values:
Have a positive attitude. Belief in safety programs. Team first attitude. You are expected to carry the values and respect for teammates you learned from the military into this career.
Base salary, $85K - $100K total comp depending on location, full benefits, a 401k, and a bonus.
Number one company in their Industry, with a long history of hiring veterans, many growth opportunities, and great comp packages.
