Talent Acquisition Sourcer - Military Veterans

Job Summary: Responsible for using various social media channels platforms and professional networks to seek out qualified candidates actively and passively seeking employment as a means of building talent pipelines for various current and future job vacancies. Develop and implement strategic solutions that enable Employment Specialists to hire the right talent more effectively and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with hiring managers to determine job requirements and functionality in order to ensure candidate sourcing results yield viable candidates with required experience consistent with job requirements necessary to ensure best job fit to meet job duties, and organization's expectations.

- Utilize various searching techniques, i.e. Boolean search operators, search modifier symbols, etc. in connection with implementing industry best practices for recruitment sourcing strategies targeting potential candidates with required experience.

- Identify and interact with a diverse talent pool of viable candidates via social media and professional network including but not limited to LinkedIn, Slack, Git hub, etc.

- Screens applications/resume to determine candidate qualifications. Forwards qualified candidates to hiring managers; coordinates interview scheduling as required.

- Exercises executive search techniques to locate viable candidates; conducts searches using Internet resume/candidate database resources. Develops relationships and works with external recruiting sources.

- Assists in developing strategies for hard-to-fill jobs. Develop and deliver communication campaigns consisting of emails, texts, written notifications/announcements, etc. communication campaigns targeting viable candidates with required experience and qualifications.

- Regularly attends career fairs, university recruitment events, virtual hiring events, and branding opportunities within local and national locations.

- Create, coordinate and execute communication with potential applicants from all virtual and in person events

- Train sourcing techniques to field HR Associates, interns, and new hire Talent Acquisition Specialist

- University relations coordinator - actively connect with student affairs offices to access student talent through career fairs, internship programs, and on-campus presentations

• Cultivate relationships with career services advisors, faculty, and student organizations within the student affairs office to identify potential candidates
• Develop mutually beneficial partnerships with colleges and universities, aligning company hiring needs with student career goals
• Initiate, organize, and schedule college and university visit for hard to fill roles, and the Talent Acquisition specialist travel to national career and branding events

- Develop strategies to build talent pipeline of qualified candidates, and conduct talent mapping to support business growth and goals. Maintain candidate databases (e.g. via our Applicant Tracking System) and run standard reports as needed. Compile and measure conversion rates relative to the numbers of passive candidates that result in official applicants, candidates invited to interview, as well as the number of candidates extended a job offer and hired.

- May assists with other exempt staffing and recruitment efforts in other functional areas as required.

- Actively promote the NEXCOM Enterprise brand online and offline.

Work under the general supervision of the Director, Talent Acquisition may be assigned to a Talent Acquisition Specialist. Receive assignments in terms of broad objectives and is expected to plan and carry out work independently and resolve most problems independently.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Requires a total of 5 years of experience as indicated below:

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Three years of responsible experience in non-routine work that enabled the applicant to gain general understanding of the systems, methods and administrative machinery for accomplishing work; the ability to analyze problems, apply sound judgment in determining solutions and remedies to resolve problems; and the ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing.

OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: 1 year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience, up to a maximum of a 4 year bachelor's degree for 3 years of general experience.

AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience in Human Resources recruitment involving advertising vacancies, sourcing and recruiting qualified candidates for full time positions. Relevant experience includes experience in a sourcing or recruiter role using various job boards, social media tools and/or methods; experience and comfort reaching out to passive candidates at all levels in fulfilling multiple roles; and demonstrated superior communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to engage and build quick rapport, and maintain strong relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and recruiters.

WELCOME TO Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM)!

The Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) is the headquarters for the worldwide NEXCOM Enterprise and is one of 11 commands under the Commander, Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP).

NEXCOM offers exciting opportunities to join a unique provider of goods and services to Navy Sailors and their families around the world.  We are a $2+B enterprise, operating over 300 Navy Exchange retail locations and 100 Navy Hospitality locations around the US and in 13 foreign countries, on nearly 100 Naval Bases globally.  Our NEX oversees the operation and management of retail stores, food services, hotels, auto shops, and other services.

NEXCOM oversees six primary business programs:

  • Navy Exchange (NEX) Retail Stores and Services
  • NEXCOM Hospitality Group
  • Uniform Program Management Office (UPMO)
  • Navy Clothing Textile and Research Facility (NCTRF)
  • Ships Stores Program
  • Telecommunications Program Office (TPO)

With the exception of the Ships Store Program, the NEXCOM Enterprise conducts its operations as a federal non-appropriated funded instrumentality. As such, the command is self-supporting with 70 percent of its profits given to Navy Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) programs and the remaining 30 percent reinvested in NEX buildings and equipment.

NEXCOM is a military organization and is subject to congressional legislation as well as oversight from the Department of the Navy. NEXCOM’s parent command is the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP).

The NEXCOM Enterprise boasts over 14,000 civilian associates in a wide variety of jobs worldwide, over 40 percent of whom are military affiliated as either family members or veterans.
