Job Purpose:
Avnet’s Legal internship program provides law students with practical work experience in a global organization complimenting their classroom education. Our interns receive valuable hands-on experience within Contracts, Corporate Secretary, and Global Trade teams of Avnet Americas Legal Dept. In addition, our Legal Interns gain practical insight into our business activities and internal operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform research and write memoranda on legal issues impacting Avnet.
- Assist in drafting and editing of all forms of commercial agreements and templates.
- Assist the Legal team and outside counsel on pending litigation matters including responding to subpoenas. participating in depositions, production of documents and e-discovery, and reviewing pleadings.
- Actively participate in meetings with members of the Legal team and Senior Management.
- Conduct presentations to lawyers and to non-lawyers.
Knowledge and Skills:
- PC skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated leadership experience through work and school related activities.
- Interest or background in technology or commercial matters is preferred.
Education and Certification(s):
- Completion of an Undergraduate degree program.
- Completion of second year of a law degree program preferred completion of first year of a law degree program required.
Additional Information:
- This is a paid internship.
- Work schedule is 8am-5pm M-F, with a hybrid schedule some days in-office, some days WFH).
- Must be available for full-time seasonal work from May 19 to August 8, 2025.
- Selected candidate must provide their own housing, internet access and transportation.
- Selected candidate should reside in Phoenix for the summer to accommodate the hybrid schedule.
- Relocation is not offered for this role.
