As a Full Stack Engineer specializing in generative AI applications, you will design, develop, and deploy innovative web applications that leverage state-of-the-art generative AI models. This role requires hands-on expertise in both front-end and back-end development using modern technologies. You will create responsive and interactive interfaces with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3, while also contributing to a robust backend architecture with Python and FastAPI. Your work will directly impact our platform's ability to provide intelligent and interactive tools for our users.
Full Stack Development and Architecture
- Contribute to architecture and prioritization for the front-end track.
- Develop robust and user-friendly interfaces using React, Next.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Implement scalable, low-latency backend services using Python, FastAPI, and Pydantic to support frontend functionalities.
- Integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic to ensure high availability and data protection measures.
- Collaborate with the contract Full Stack Engineering (FSE) team to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to architect, develop, and maintain end-to-end solutions.
- Monitor, debug, track, and resolve production issues.
- Assist in ensuring that projects proceed on time and on budget.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to track performance KPIs and prioritize improvements based on effort and impact.
- Present prototypes and progress updates to stakeholders.
- Stay updated on the latest advances in AI/ML research to enhance the platform.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and subject matter experts to deliver high-quality, AI-powered experiences.
- Contribute to a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and a passion for learning and adopting innovative technologies.

Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of five years? post-secondary education or relevant work experience
Additional Qualifications and Skills
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of five years? post-secondary education or relevant work experience in Full Stack development with expertise in React and Python.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing and integrating AI into consumer-facing products (FE+BE).
- Proficiency in React, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Experience with Python, FastAPI and Pydantic building scalable services and APIs.
- Consistent focus on quality through observability, error handling, performance monitoring, unit testing, and end-to-end testing.
- Prior involvement in developing secure web applications and familiarity with application vulnerabilities.
- Understanding of the underlying fundamentals of LLMs.
- Familiarity with CI/CD best practices (e.g., GitHub actions, CDK).
Additional Information
This role has the possibility of being remote or hybrid.
Remote work may be considered for individuals living at least 100-mile radius from campus and where all work will be completed within a state that Harvard is registered to do business in (CA - exempt roles only, CT, GA, IL, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, RI, VA, VT or WA).
We consider hybrid to be a combination of remote and 3 days per week onsite work at our Boston, MA based campus.
Specific hours and days onsite will be determined by business needs and are subject to change with appropriate advanced notice.
We may conduct candidate interviews virtually (phone and/or via Zoom) and/or in-person for this role.
As part of our evaluation, candidates are required to complete a Take Home Assignment / Hacker Rank assessment after clearing Technical Recruiter Screen. This assignment will test your specific skills/knowledge areas relevant to the role
