Long Term opportunity that offers per diem! Large utility is looking for a Construction Manager in Western MI. The Construction Manager oversees and ensures the safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of utility construction projects, managing teams, resolving conflicts, and maintaining compliance with standards and documentation requirements.

responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage safety, scope, cost, and schedule during the construction phase of projects.
- Report directly to the Project Manager (PM) and supervise all team members, including contractors and company employees, during the construction phase.
- Ensure construction adheres to applicable company-generated or industry standards, with input from subject matter experts.
- Facilitate pre-construction meetings with a focus on safety and communicate schedule or construction recommendations to the PM.
- Oversee pre-fabrication and onsite construction, tracking safety, scope, quality, risk, schedule, and budget.
- Report daily progress to the Project Manager.
- Supervise contract inspectors and resolve issues related to materials, construction, and scheduling conflicts.
- Coordinate testing and start-up of installed equipment.
- Develop punch lists and obtain sign-off for the turnover checklist from the Field Leader (FL).
Skills:
- Experience and knowledge of construction management, gas facilities construction experience is a plus
- Knowledge of field operations and equipment operations.
- Strong conflict management and decision-making skills.
- Record management and documentation abilities.
- Integrity, trustworthiness, and leadership in managing and measuring project outcomes.
- Effective negotiation, organizing, planning, and priority-setting skills.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent applicable experience.
