Leading East Coast Manufacture seeking Controller with Cost Accounting to join their team! This Controller will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with relevant regulations. This role involves managing the finance team, developing financial strategies, and providing critical insights to support decision-making.
The Controller will play a key role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organization, with a strong focus on cost management and financial efficiency in the manufacturing process. This Controller will develop and implement internal control policies, procedures, and guidelines for budgeting, cash and credit management, and accounting functions as well as lead the financial planning, budgeting, procurement, and investment activities for the organization. In this role you will stay informed about organizational policies, federal and state regulations, and current accounting standards as well as supervise and evaluate the performance of accounting and financial staff, including recommending personnel actions such as promotions or dismissals. The
Controller will manage the receipt of cash and checks and oversee deposits as well as prepare and file annual tax returns or provide financial data to external accountants for tax filing as well as advise senior management on both short-term and long-term financial strategies, objectives, and policies.
The Controller will prepare financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, and reports required by regulatory agencies and evaluate the organization's financial needs and recommend strategies for fund procurement or surplus investment. The Controller will cultivate and maintain relationships with external financial entities, such as banks, insurance companies, and accountants, to facilitate smooth financial operations.
The Controller role will require knowledge of business management principles, including strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and human resources management. For this role the Controller must have a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data as well as demonstrate legal and regulatory knowledge in the areas of laws, legal codes, government regulations, and accounting standards applicable to the organization.
This Controller must demonstrate a strong grasp of arithmetic, algebra, statistics, and their application in financial analysis as well as adhere to GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance (SOX).
