Job Description

We are currently looking for a Lead System Engineering Analyst for our Calgary location in our International TacCIS division. Our TacCIS division specialize in Tactical Communication Information Systems for support vehicles in our Land division.

As a System Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for your teams execution of key work products and coordinating actions for the success of the engineering development program. This would include the hardware, software and systems integration. If you have experience in planning and executing the engineering development cycle by organizing and inspiring a team of engineering professionals to achieve challenging but achievable goals, we encourage you to apply.

The responsibilities and range of activities will vary, but in general will include:

  • Support the requirements Specification and its trace and allocation between the Prime Specification and Sub-System Specifications.
  • Create the detailed system design to meet the prime specification in the scheduled time allotted.
  • Coordinate with the Software Team Lead, System Integration/Verification & Validation Team Lead and Specialty Engineering to ensure the system design is implemented, tested and accepted in a coherent manner.
  • Coordinate with the Product Line Teams to ensure displays and networking products meet their specifications and are delivered with appropriate documentation to meet the prime contract requirements
  • Review of received customer documents, supplier documents and timely delivery of System Engineering documentation and reviews.
  • Timely, thorough and accurate analysis and documentation of change requests on specifications and designs.
  • Lead the System Problem Report Review Board and ensure timely analysis and resolution of engineering development issues.
  • Ongoing measuring, reporting, course corrections and risk management activities to maintain development schedule and quality.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7+ years Systems Engineering experience with complex electronic systems with large software components.
  • Experience with C2, networking, radios and other key competencies for the intersection of CIS programs on land tactical vehicles, wheeled and tracked, combat and support vehicles.
  • Experience with requirements management in a complex program.
  • Familiarity with system design tools such as UML.
  • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with the continuum of estimating, planning, executing, measuring, reporting and updating engineering development plans.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated capabilities inspiring teams to achieve or exceed committed schedules.
  • Experience with Communication Information Systems on tactical vehicles is desirable
  • Ability to travel internationally and work equally well in austere environments or boardrooms
  • Bachelors degree in Software Engineering; Computer Science; or a related technical/engineering degree.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
