Education/Experience Requirements - Accounting Supervisor

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related major preferred
Supervisory experience necessary
Minimum three years experience in a staff accountant or related role required
Accounting experience within a manufacturing or distribution industry environment is a must
Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions
Minimum three years experience with an ERP system, SAP preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to motivate staff
Experience working in an environment with global objectives
Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in English

Position Responsibilities – Accounting Supervisor

Supervises employees by planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Trains and oversees employees
Directs assigned tasks and provides assistance as needed

Supervises Accounts Payable

Timely processing of vendor invoices
Review weekly vendor payments for accuracy
Resolve invoice discrepancies

General Accounting

Assisting with monthly closings
Balance Sheet account reconciliations to ensure accurate statements
Intercompany Reconciliations
Monthly journal entries
Fixed Asset Maintenance

Cost Controlling

Expense Report Compliance Audits & Training
Vendor Master Maintenance
AP Monthly Metrics Reporting
Backup for AP Processing
Supervises Sales Tax Processing
Process sales tax returns
Tax certificate maintenance/audits
Other miscellaneous tax functions

Other duties as may be assigned

Travel as necessary, up to 10%
