Academic Program Specialist - Military Veterans

Job Summary:
The School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Anesthesiology, is searching for a dynamic, detail-oriented, highly organized individual to join their Education Team. This person will have the opportunity to work with Anesthesiology faculty, residents, and students as an education team member.

Responsibilities include support of DOA education programs operations, including organizing events (retreats, graduation, special events), assisting with residency and fellowship tasks (residency and fellowship recruitment, residency didactics), OR shadowing, and ACLS/BLS course coordination. The incumbent will also coordinate the Student Anesthesiologist Assistant (SAA) and Student Registered Nurse Anesthetist (SRNA) education programs and will serve as a backup to the medical student education coordinator.

Responsibilities: Contributes to the development, implementation, administration, coordination, and evaluation for one or more academic programs to ensure effectiveness in meeting departmental and student development goals and initiatives.   • 15% Utilizes independent judgement regarding development, implementation, promotion, and evaluation for one or more academic programs, initiatives, or events
  • 25% Identifies program, needs, contributes to the development of unit workflows, schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, events, and interviews
  • 15% Coordinates program components and evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement
  • 25% May supervise the day to day activities of one or more academic programs and resolves issues exercising discretion to meet unit goals.
  • 15% Coordinates education events such as graduation, retreats, orientation, and recruitment events.
  • 5% Backup for medical student education.

Qualifications:
- Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer experience required

- Preferred: Two years of administrative experience. Experience in Graduate Medical Education or Student Services desirable.

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
